Current Volunteer Needs:
Volunteer Opportunities!
Time hanging heavy on your hands? Working more but enjoying it less? Wishing for more friends or a new sense of community? PFLAG is here to help.
We have a job to fit your schedule. Perhaps you have a couple of hours you could donate. We have one-time only projects that could use a volunteer to work on them for a few hours. Perhaps you need to work from home. We have those projects, too. Perhaps you enjoy the camaraderie of getting together with others but can't commit to a regular schedule. We have ongoing needs, such as newsletter stuffing, that don't require a commitment.
If you enjoy working toward a goal, there are various committees that meet every three or four months. If you want the satisfaction of working with others on a regular basis, there are committees that need members that meet once a month to work on vital issues.
The result? You gain. PFLAG gains. I've found that the more I put into an organization, the more I gain personally, both in deeper relationships with others and the satisfaction that comes from working toward an important goal.
PFLAG needs you. We have many crucial issues ahead of us as we work toward making the world a safer place for our gay and lesbian friends and relatives. Whether it is support, education or advocacy, we have committees and projects that need volunteers.
So don't waste another minute. Call the ...and leave your name and phone number. We'll find a job to fit your schedule!

Newsletter Stuffing
Newsletter stuffing is an ongoing need that does not require a commitment. We meet one evening a month at a PFLAG mom's home, 7 pm. Usually finish by 8:30 or 9:00. When there are 5 weeks in a month, we meet the 1st and last Thursday. Otherwise, we meet the 1st Thursday of the month.

TV OUTREACH:
- We now have a library of tapes of "PFLAG Talks", the TV show we produce that is presently shown on two public access stations. We think we could get the show played on many more channels, and expand our presence into other parts of the Peninsula. We have a list of places to contact, but need someone who will take the tapes to two or three of these channels, and discover how we can make the arrangements to have them aired. Never done it? Not to worry. This whole TV effort has been a terrific learning experience for all involved. Contact Windsor Smith for details.
