San Jose Pride Festival Volunteers Needed!
August 21-22
This year there may not be a San Jose Pride Parade, but there will be a Festival. Our PFLAG chapter has a booth to staff! We need volunteers for 1 or 2 hours on Saturday or Sunday between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The festival is free to all on Saturday. PFLAG will pay a reduced admission fee on Sunday for volunteers!

- Transgender Parent Suppport Group - Are you or your partner a transgender parent? Or thinking about becoming a parent? The Transgender Parent Support Group is an opportunity to connect with your peers and get mutual support. The group, facilitated by Rosa Reinikainen, M.F.T., will meet every third Saturday of each month from 10 AM - 12 noon at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center, 1800 Market St. at Octavia Blvd, San Francisco. The first half hour will be spent socializing, with the remaining time for group discussion. Drop-ins are welcome, but ongoing attendance helps to establish group rapport.

Education
Speakers Bureau
This chapter has a very active Speakers Bureau. We provide trained speakers & panels to educate audiences from middle/high schools, universities, churches, businesses, etc. about the issues that face lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender people and their family members. Safe Schools Committee
The San Jose/Peninsula PFLAG chapter does have a Safe School's committee. PFLAG can provide informational booklets for students and parents of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.
