Redwood City Fourth of July Parade
The PFLAG contingent for the Redwood City Fourth of July Parade is expecting enthusiastic participation this year. The overall theme for the Parade is ALL THINGS MUSICAL and the theme for the PFLAG contingent is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Naturally, we'll have at least one prominent rainbow. If you need information about participating in the parade send an email to Laurie Carter
We will be meeting on Alden Street Between Arguello and Winslow near Downtown Redwood City. It is 5 blocks south of Whipple. You can take the train.
- What to wear: Comfortable shoes- dark pants (shorts or skirt would be fine) plain white top. Plfag Sash - we have LOTS of extras
- What to bring: Sunscreen, hat, water, your best
- TIME- They say 10- be sure to be there by 10:30 at the very latest.

Transgender Parent Suppport Group
Are you or your partner a transgender parent? Or thinking about becoming a parent? The Transgender Parent Support Group is an opportunity to connect with your peers and get mutual support. The group, facilitated by Rosa Reinikainen, M.F.T., will meet every third Saturday of each month from 10 AM - 12 noon at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center, 1800 Market St. at Octavia Blvd, San Francisco. The first half hour will be spent socializing, with the remaining time for group discussion. Drop-ins are welcome, but ongoing attendance helps to establish group rapport.

A Straight Guide to GLBT Americans
Human Rights Campaign Foundation, 2006
The Human Rights Campaign and Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) present a first of its kind guide to GLBT Americans written for straight people. The guide walks people through the emotional spectrum that people typically feel after someone comes out to them, outlines myths and facts about GLBT people, and gives easy ways for straight people to learn more and demonstrate their support for GLBT Americans. Speakers Bureau
This chapter has a very active Speakers Bureau. We provide trained speakers & panels to educate audiences from middle/high schools, universities, churches, businesses, etc. about the issues that face lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender people and their family members. Safe Schools Committee
The San Jose/Peninsula PFLAG chapter does have a Safe School's committee. PFLAG can provide informational booklets for students and parents of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.
